Huion Kamvas Studio 22 Review, Features and Specs

As mentioned in our last review, Huion is one of the new affordable tablet brands that have come up to compete with the Wacom brand. In a Wacom vs Huion comparison, Huion Kamvas Studio 22 compares to the professional-level Wacom mobile studio only being larger and more affordable compared to Wacom’s device.

For a long time, Huion Kamvas Studio 22 has been their best and only standalone tablet that not only packs powerful drawing features but also the power and specs you can find in a premium-level laptop.

A pen computer tablet is unique because, unlike a graphic or pen display tablet, it has both an inbuilt screen and a computer so you can use it without having to connect to a computer.

Huion Kamvas Studio 22 is a good example of a standalone tablet. In a short description, we can say that the Kamvas 22 is a premium-level tablet that features a large unique screen, a premium look design, and powerful features fit for many professional functions such as drawing and animation.

By the end of this article, you will be able to understand the most important features of the tablet and the pros and cons that will help you decide whether to choose the Kamvas 22 over other tablets or not.

If you like working outside the office or during your travels without a computer or laptop connection, then this is a perfect pick for you.

The Kamvas Studio 22 features a large 21.5 inches screen size that is comfortable to use especially for drawing.

You will be able to view your work in clear and high detail thanks to 1920 x 1080 Pixels Full HD resolution. Additionally, the screen is fully laminated adding to the overall clarity of the screen due to reduced parallax.

A fully laminated screen is also considered to be more firm and durable compared to a nonlaminated one because of the 3 fused layers that form one sturdy screen.

To protect your eyes from direct light, the tablet has a protective anti-glare film covering the screen. This technology creates a matte screen that helps create a nice natural paper-like feel when drawing.

You can be able to clearly view the screen at a 178-degree angle from all directions. Additionally, the screen features good color accuracy with a 120 % sRGB color Gamut.

Kamvas Studio 22 Stylus Pen

After the screen, the stylus Pen is one of the most important parts of an artist’s tablet.

The Huion Kamvas Studio 22 comes with a nice PW500 Pen. First, the pen is battery-free and will not need to connect with wires to charge. As you use the Pen, it automatically charges through electromagnetic resonance technology.

A good pen needs to be highly sensitive to draw different types of stroke variations. The pen features 8192 pen pressure levels and a large 5080 lines per inch resolution.

One great thing about the pen is its nice ergonomic design that is shaped to look like a real pencil. This allows you to comfortably use it.

Kamvas Studio 22 Power and Performance

The Kamvas Studio 22 is a powerful tablet that will perform complex tasks without problems. You will be able to run powerful software such as Photoshop without issues.

Multi-tasking is also made possible by a powerful intel core i5 processor. Additionally, you will have 2 options for RAM with either 8 GB or 16 GB size.

If you are a photographer and need to save large raw files, you will have  120GB or 240 GB SSD + 1TB HDD storage.

Shortcut Keys

Customizable shortcut keys will help you speed up your workflow by setting to the quick go-to functions that you normally use.

The Huion Kamvas Studio 22 comes with a total of 20 shortcut keys on either side of the tablet. The slider and 10 keys on the left are fully customizable while the others are not.
