How to record screen and audio with Quicktime Player
When recording on a MAC you will need to have Quicktime Player installed in your device. Quicktime Player usually comes installed in your computer as a media player. One of its important capabilities is to record your screen and use your system speakers as audio recorders.
Although it is great in recording video by default, you will need to add Soundflower extension to record both audio and video simultaneously.
Step 1: Download and install Soundflower extension. Go to preferences and under volume click on create a multi output device. Set master device to Built in output. Sample rate to 441100,0 Hz.
Step 2: Go to Quicktime player, File – New Recording. Next to the start recording button, click the drop down and choose Soundflower as your mic.
Step4: Start Recording by clicking Record, on the pop up menu that appears.
Step 5: When done, click the red button to stop.

Step 1; Download and install Movavi Screen Recorder. Launch the screen recorder on your computer.
Step 2; Open the software. Once opened, click on the recording icon. Draw an area you want to record using your mouse. If you select the wrong section, you can rectify that by adjusting the area at the edges of the box.
Step 3; Capturing audio is quite easy as you only need to select the microphone icon and/or the speaker icon to turn on or off from your microphone or computer.
Moreover, if you want to record yourself as the screen records, you can use your Webcam. Simply click on the Effects Menu and set up Keystroke recording or Cursor effect for a more professional recording.

Capturing System Audio using Movavi Screen Recorder
Sometimes you’d like to record the system’s audio only, without images or recording a video.
Step 1; Once you have launched the sound recorder, click the Add button and add the Audio Recording to the Audio recorder widget to the control bar.
Step 2; select the Audio recording icon in order to open it in a new window and select the speaker icon. Next to the speaker icon is the microphone icon which you can also select if you need both the system sound and the microphone sound.
Step 3; click on the red button to start the recording and on the bottom you will see the cancel, pause and stop recording.
Similar to the video screen recording, once you’re done recording, hit on stop recording and the inbuilt audio editor will appear where you will be able to play, cut and save the file.
How to record screen and audio with VLC
I believe we are all aware of the VLC media player, since it is one of the most common software used to listen to audios or watch videos.
What most people don’t know is that you can use your basic media player to record your computer screen.
Step by step How to record screen on VLC
Step 1; Download and install VLC. It is quite easy to get a hold of the software and when you have installed and launched the software you shall open it and we can get started.
Step 2; click on Media on the top left corner of the software. On the box highlighted, click on Capture device.
Step 3; on the tab that appears, change Capture mode to Desktop mode. Then set the frame rate to the desired rate, i prefer 30fps but you can to 50+.
Step 4; Convert. You might not be able to see the button, but below you can see a play option and next to it is an arrow pointing down. Click on the arrow and a dropdown menu will come up with one option being Convert. click on it.
Step 5; Select the Output folder. Once you press convert a box will pop up. Name your file and click save.
Step 6; Click start and there and then your screen recording will begin.
Step 7; once you’re done, click the stop playback button on the bottom left corner of VLC.
There you go. Your file will be on the destination you saved with the name you saved it by.
